Internship Opportunity.001

Auditions on Fri 17th Oct

Cindy Claes will be choreographing new groundbreaking theatre production written and directed by Gbemisola Ikumelo: “The Den”.  Please find all the details about the upcoming auditions below:

FAITH Drama productions will be producing a large scale ambitious Site-Specific production called THE DEN, which is to be supported by the Barbican Centre.

They will be producing a 20-30 minute extract of the piece which will be performed in front of the Barbican creatives and an invited industry audience on Friday 14th November. The piece will be performed on a disused plot of land in East London and they want a talented young ensemble of Parkour artistes, dancers, and acrobats etc. who are open to acting.

“THE DEN imagines a world of two societies at war; adults and children. This war has led to the government putting restrictions on child-rearing; with only those wealthy enough allowed to conceive. An underground community called THE DEN emerges, where abandoned and illegal children come to seek refuge. THE DEN is a world where freedom, creativity and fun abound but it has one rule that means everything.  All Adults stay out or get killed.”

Faith Drama Productions are interested in an ensemble that is made up of physically agile dancers & parkour artists with acting skills.

Dancers can have a background in any technique (Hip-hop, House, Krumping, Dancehall, Contemporary, Breakin’, etc.).  Acrobatic skills are a big plus.  The choreography and nature of the play will be physically demanding and candidates will work in close collaboration with parkour artists.

Parkour artists must be able to pick up some choreographed sequences.  They will work in close collaboration with the dancers.

Circus artists with dance skills are also welcome to audition.

All artists will be required to work to develop the story with the actors and director. This will be a very collaborative experience.

Though we are unable to provide pay for the R&D/ performance this time round, this is a production that is very likely to be produced fully next summer and at this stage we would pay artists in full.

ALL ADULT PERFORMERS WILL NEED TO BE ABLE TO LOOK YOUNG.

CHILD PERFORMERS MUST BE BETWEEN 14-18 YEARS OF AGE.
